BLUE ELEGANCE is a fabulous piece for you to try, if you are new to crewel work or wish to practise your skills on a small project.

Crewel embroidery is one of my favourite embroidery techniques. From the traditional Jacobean to the more contemporary play with colour and design, there is so much to explore.The scrolling stems and magnificent leaves often seen in tradition Jacobean crewel work was my inspiration for this design. I chose a fresh colour palette to give it a more contemporary look and used a wide variety of stitches to add texture and interest.
The panel is the perfect size for a cushion insert or a small bag.
