One-of-a-kind, all Sterling Silver bracelet with rare Lundberg/Santa Cruz sea glass! This bracelet started with two think and substantial Sterling silver links with detailed mermaid designs on each. The links are a full 3" long by 3/4" wide each. I hand channel-wrapped a gorgeous white and blue, very rare Santa Cruz sea glass gem in Sterling silver and used it as a focal between the two mermaids. To complete the bracelet, I added another touch of whimsy and splash of color by attaching two more rare and lovely Santa Cruz sea glass gems in green and red to the Sterling Silver lobster clasp. The bracelet measures 8 1/4" in diameter.

For those of you who know me well, you know I am a huge admirer and collector of Lundberg glass. If you are not yet knowledgeable about these magnificent works of art, allow me to give you a brief history. Back in the 1970's, the two Lundberg brothers started a glass making factory in Davenport, California. Their unique method of creating glass products helped make some of the most beautiful vases, paperweights and other glass objects the USA has ever created. In fact, Lundberg glass has been displayed in the Smithsonian Institute, the White House, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago among other institutions.

According to one worker I spoke to at the Lundberg Studios during a visit, decades ago, glass remnants of each day's production was dumped into the stream that ran past the studio which, in turn, made its way into the Pacific Ocean. It is called end-of-day glass - same way end-of-day glass was created in Northern England. Decades later, it is the source of the magnificent sea glass washing up on one particular beach in Santa Cruz, California.

Now, I do not collect my own Santa Cruz sea glass. It is not for the faint of heart. The waves are known to be fierce. It does not wash ashore often. So, I purchase pieces from a well-known Santa Cruz sea glass hunter in my circle of colleagues. This lovely piece is one of many that I will be creating and listing in the coming months.

I would be happy to provide you with a written record of where this lovely sea glass was found as well as any possible "past lives" upon request. Remember, you are purchasing not only an object of beauty, but a piece of history as well.

Like all of my jewelry, this necklace comes beautifully-boxed with pretty ribbon - ready for gift-giving!
