“I once had a sweet little doll, dears, / The prettiest doll in the world.” - Charles Kingsley

Composition dolls were made from 1909 through the early 1950's as a replacement for easily breakable porcelain dolls. They reached their height of production between 1920 and 1940. This sweet little doll head bears the wear and character of a doll who has seen its share of both love and years.

This item is approximately 6-1/4" tall and the neck is 3" in diameter. It does have quite a bit of crazing along with a couple major cracks. The blue sleep eyes are glass, work great, and have eyelashes. The open mouth contains two teeth and a tongue. The doll is marked with a circle X on the back of the neck.

Overall, this is a great little piece!
