Double axe sculpture cast in solid bronze with verdigris patina
Standing on black Greek marble base.

Of all the Minoan Cretan civilization religious symbols, the axe was the holiest.
Stylized double axes such as this one, consecrated shrines in homes and palaces.
Full sized double axes were used by priests to kill sacrificial bulls in ceremonies
to propitiate Zeus.

Height : 5.3 inches / 133.6 mm (total, base included) approx.

Inspired from archaeological exhibits of the Greek museums and sites.
