Maybe Montana? Or maybe they're from a famous Japanese designer circa 1970s or early '80s. Unfortunately the label is long gone. But they came from a local source who wore lots of Miyake and Gaultier and other high end designers from the '70s and '80s. Maybe they're Matsuda or Comme Des Garcon or one of those guys.

These are fabulous! Stunning high waisted, pleated tie-cuff (almost harem style) trousers. Material is a heavy cotton.

These are small, small, small at the waist. The highest part of the waist measures (laid flat) about 12". The lower part of the waist band is about 13". Hips expand due to the large pleating to about 18". They are 48" long (including the long cuff/tie part). The cuff part is meant to be tied above the ankle which causes the trouser leg to blouson above it.

They just been cleaned by hand and by dry cleaning at an excellent local (West Hollywood) cleaners.

I'd love to know who designed these. Anybody willing to guess?

They haven't been worn since the 1980s. They've been stored away all this time.

Striking and rare design.

I've seen a Montana skirt with the identical waistband...
