Thinking about the colors and shapes of autumn, I was drawn to one of my favorite trees: the oak tree. How could I make it stand out? Embroider actual oak leaves in a circle--in a wreath--and use different combinations of autumn colors in each leaf's stitching.

The seven oak leaves are all embroidered by hand using a chain stitch throughout, bringing interesting texture and color variety to the outline of each leaf. The lightweight gray linen is machine hemmed and is machine-washable and dryable, but I recommend pressing it with a hot iron instead of using the dryer. The hand towel will look even nicer on your towel rods if pressed with light starch.

Size: 26 1/2 inches by 16 inches.
