c.1860 Civil Wal Era English Jacquard Paisley Shawl purchased in England in the 90's. the material is in PERFECT shape. There are no holes or bug 'bites'. The colors are sharp and vibrant (albeit difficult to capture when taking a picture of the whole surface so I have added two detail pictures to show the quality and integrity of the piece). The dimensions are 70 inches x 70 inches. Truly a one of a kind piece, no Lady/Gentlewoman would be without one during the winter. Functional for its woolly warmth, striking for its splash of color during the cooler months when worn as a wrap for warmth. No period Dickensian costume would do without a paisley shawl and white fingerless gloves. Great for Christmas Carolers.
