Miss Euphemia Blackmoore, the town Librarian, wore this black silk Edwardian Duster while motoring or traveling.

You too can travel in style in this 1900s vintage coat, roomy to fit over the outfit you want to protect from road dust, cinders and the inconveniences of travel. Steampunk. Would also make a great Downton Abbey costume.

Ten panels create a flared but loose-fitting profile. Twelve faux buttons (2 sets of 6) down front create a double-breasted look, and there are 3 smaller buttons on each sleeve. Actual closure is with interior hooks and eyes. Sleeves seem short ~ were shot cuffs the norm?

Over 100 years old ~ in good vintage condition with a few signs of its age. Slightly frayed down front, several discreet worn spots and pin holes. Buttons are all present, but have seen better days (rusty and deteriorating, easily replaced), some hooks and eyes damaged. Stain just above hem in back ~ library paste? (last photo)

Dove gray satin lining is coming apart at neck seam (4th photo: easily repaired with restitching), and stained in spots (doesn't show).

Size: medium-ish
Shoulders: 14"
Chest (across, lying flat): 18 1/2"
Sleeves: 25 1/2" in back, 21" in front (short)
Length: 40"
