This lovely hand made tablecloth has colorful Japanese lanterns and cherry blossoms as decorations. The lantern designs are in two sizes (see 1st & 3rd pictures). There is a green trim that looks to be machine done plus a geometric design at the corners that is hand done.

The amazing thing about the cross stitch is that it was done on very tightly woven high thread count heavy weight cotton material. It must have taken a long time to stitch. The work is immpeccable.

She obviously used her creation because there are some areas of light stains. The green trimming stitching has come undone on one of the corner areas. But, with a little sewing, that could be repaired.

The tablecloth is 65" (165.1cm) by 54" (137.1cm). Another use for this wonderful piece is to cut it up into pillows or napkins. The large lanterns are approximately 6 1/2"(16.5cm) by 5" (12.7cm). The small lanterns are 4 1/4" (10.8cm) b7 2 1/2"(5.7cm).

The work is so well done it should be preserved and enjoyed.
