Founded in Offenbach in the early 1900s by Heinrich Maltner, Mylflam lighters were produced from 1930 until 1976. The name 1000 Zünder translates to "1000 Sparks" in German. This diminutive "Standard" model lighter probably dates to the early-to-mid 1950s -- post World War 2, but prior to the segregation of East and West Germany. This Mylflam features a simple, elegant black and gold vertical design on the front face and a solid black enamel panel on the rear. Its firing mechanism is similar to Kreisler/Colibri lighters. To light, just quickly slide the firing trigger away from the wick. Release and the snuffer caps snaps back into place, extinguishing the flame. It uses a slip case design (see photo #5) which makes adding fluid and replacing its wick MUCH easier than lighters with screw-access only fuel chambers. Also, I think the absence of exposed screws on the lighter base gives this Mylflam a sleeker, more refined appearance.

This Mylflam works great and can be used reliably for daily use. I've unblocked the flint chamber, cleaned its firing mechanism, installed a new wick, and repacked the fuel chamber to restore this antique German lighter to excellent, reliable working condition. It will be shipped with a flint and without fluid. (If you plan to only display this lighter, please remove the flint so it does not deteriorate and become impacted over time.) I've provided high quality photos to offer the best preview of this German lighter. Please take a look and feel free to ask any questions.
