Do you suppose that once upon a time the Roadrunner owned this nicely-detailed lamp? After all, it says 'Acme' right on the front of the stove. (See 4th photo.) It's non-ferrous black-painted metal, and has 2 little removable lids (3rd photo). The colorful clip-on stiff cardboard shade is sturdy enough, although it bears bumps and fading, etc., has seen more pristine days, and has definite cosmetic challenges--but who doesn't, after 50? It bears scenes of farms and a church. Really, it's very cute, even if it is what I like to call charmingly bedraggled. The lamp base is sturdy and NOT bedraggled. Original wiring and plug are sound, if grubby. Nice nickle-plated socket. Takes a standard bulb to 40 watts. Height of lamp with shade on: 12 1/4 inches. Base is 3 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches. Lamp height to top of socket is 8 1/2 inches. Shade is 6 3/4 inches tall, 8 inches diameter on the bottom, 5 1/2 inches on the top.
Winsome and sweet as vintage pie. Early 1950s.
