This 1950s federal style mirror made with Syroco Wood is in excellent vintage condition. These mirrors are very trendy now and look great hanging on the wall or bookcase. What I have learned about the federal style mirror is that they became popular in the 18th century. The 13 dots around the mirror's frame represents the 13 colonies. The mirror is convex glass and was used near windows or fireplaces to help reflect light into the rest of the room. By the 1950s Syroco (short for the Syracuse Ornamental Co.) perfected a molding technique where they could make a perfect reproduction of original carvings.

It measures 13" x 8.25" and the mirror has a 5" diameter.

Thank you for stopping by.
