This historical book is printed by McClain Printing of WV and distributed by London Book Co. of Ca., whose card, included with the book, says "The factual historical book ranks with the Rivers of America Series. It relates the role of the Youghiogheny had in the development of the nation. The now extinct Yough Glades, often mentioned in early history, are here shown as they were when the first pioneers came over Backbone Mountain." The writer began research in the 20's when people were still living that knew these tales from word of mouth history. The whiteman pushed the Indians out of the area and John Friend was an early settler. Also included with the book is a John Friend genealogy chart. Excellent book on America's Western Expansion. Great view of life in 1700's on the frontier.
