Description:
Beautiful original antique silver metal Art Nouveau Art Deco era German wedding tiara from the early 1900s -1920s.

These tiaras are truly wonderful and quite rare and collectible. They are German and have been traditionally worn by Brides for well over a hundred years up until approximately the 1960's when they went somewhat out of vogue. They are usually accompanied by a matching pin which was traditionally worn by the groom. They are 800g silver, not Sterling but a high quality. The flowers are myrtle flowers, long associated with the Greek goddess Aphrodite, love and immortality. Garlands of myrtle flowers have been worn traditionally for weddings since ancient Roman times.

This particular tiara is really lovely as all the little stems sit up in a crown-like manner. The silver is soft so they can be shaped any way you prefer. The details in this tiara is exceptional. Delicate and intricate, these wonderful "Hochzeit Diadem" are perfect for a woodland bride, for festivals or for any indie girl special occasion!

Provenance:

Bought from a German estate. If you like this one please check back as I have a collection of these wonderful pieces and will be listing many more in the next weeks, some as old as 1890!

Condition:

Very good antique condition. The wire can be bent and molded to your head shape. Some velvet ribbon or elastic can be added at the end so you can tie the piece on your head or it can be pinned as I have with the model shots.
