This handcolored, real photographic postcard (RPPC ) of Marguerite Clark (sometimes spelt Clarke ) shows the diminutive silent screen star in a casual thoughtful pose wearing a knitted cardigan and striped hat. It was posted in England and dates to the early 20's no later than1924. This is dated by the 1penny stamp ( used from1912-1924) as the date part of the postmark is missing.The card is published by Rotary Photo london S64-3 ,photographer Moody NY.

The condition acceptable but please note the rear pencilled message has impressed through on the top side.This is not visible on immediate inspection viewed straight on and the scanner didn't pick it up.The price is accordingly reduced.If you want a perfect card this is not likely to be for you.

Marguerite Clark 1893-1940 with her brunette hair and dark eyes joined the ranks of other child like women such as Mary Pickford,Lillian Gish and Marie Minter as one of the legends of the silent screen. In her pivotal role in "Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs" in 1916 ; the 15 year old Walt Disney said the film had a great impact on him. His full length animated film of Snow White was released in 1937.

This card would be perfect for scrapbooking, mixed media or simply as part of your collection of iconic movie stars.
