I was amazed when I shoved in a large square 6V battery and this cool baby lit up! It is over 50 years old, with some corrosion on the interior, but it works like a charm.

It stands roughly 6" high, 10" including the handle. It has appropriate dings and scratches for an item that was used by a switchman or brakeman with the railroad mid-century. The screw top lid is easy to get on and off, the switch on the bottom that turns the bulbs on moves easily. When this switch is moved counter clockwise, the left bulb goes on, when moved clockwise, the right bulb goes on.

A fun piece for the collector of railroad memorabilia or to add to your steampunk array... even handy for nighttime walking or dark club escapes. It stands by itself, so it could be useful for changing tires, camping, or any hands free application.

The bottom reads "Conger Lantern Company, Portland Ore 97220 Pat No: 2653218

Battery not included with this sale, only used to check the working status of this lantern.
