Here we have a beautiful mantle or desk item. A carved horn bird. From a birds eye view you can still see the natural curvature of the horn, very skillfully sculptured.

It bears the usual marks commensurate with an item of this age. The glass eyes are in place, which is unusual for one of these pieces, they are so often missing.

The bird measures 5" in height, including legs and stand, and 5.5" tail to beak. The bone has beautiful coloration ranging from cream to dark brown. The legs are metal which are sunk into both the base stand and body of the bird.

A wonderful piece of sculpture which truly reflects the simplicity of design and love of curves that typified the Art Deco period.
