❀ Protective capes for the fashion conscious chicken ❀

Hey, if citified Yorkies can dress for success, why can't countrified hens? ;-)

Ok, in case you're just stumbling across this shop, and you're wondering why in the world would anyone want to dress a chicken, here's why. Occasionally the pecking order in a flock can get a bit intense, and the lowest hens in the order can become "overly pecked" and lose some feathers on their backs. The constant pecking can lead to infection and other potential problems, so I came up with a solution that my girls and onlookers both enjoy. Of course, your neighbors might think you're crazy for dressing your hens, but then again you might just start a new farm fashion trend.

"Daisy Garden"

Blue daisy print on navy blue fabric. Lined in off white fabric. Trimmed in off white cotton lace. Double stitched in white thread. Breathable lightweight fabric perfect for the warmer months.

Each cape is lined and double stitched for quality and sturdiness. Please note that each item is handmade, so there may be an occasional minor imperfection. This does not affect the quality and will not affect the overall beauty of your hen.

One size fits most standard breeds.

Due to lighting and the differences in computer monitors, the color may appear slightly different than in person.

These capes are for temporary wear. Please inspect your precious cape-wearing hens daily to make sure the elastic fits comfortably and that the capes are not restricting. Do not allow capes to become overly soiled because this can lead to unhealthy conditions for your gals. Capes are fitted for the average full-sized hen. Roosters should not wear these capes due to their larger stature.

***Care Instructions: Hand wash with cool water with mild detergent. Line dry or dry flat. May be pressed with a warm iron. A hot iron could damage fabric or elastic, so always use care.

Country gals love to get dirty, so capes may become stained. Of course, that just adds to the country girl charm. If a country girl can't get dirty, she ain't country. ;o)
