These beautiful crocheted bracelets are made from double strands of recycled sari silk joined with a silver metal clasp. They look great when worn alone or stacked; they're lightweight, comfortable, and make excellent gifts and friendship bracelets.

On a trip to India several years ago, I was enthralled by the ornate, richly-colored saris worn by rich and poor women alike; needless to say, when I found a yarn made from sari silk fibers, I fell in love! It's made from colorful silk fibers left over from sari mills in Northern India and Nepal. The fibers are then spun by Nepalese women's groups and sold as yarn for knitting and crochet. (You can go to darngoodyarn dot com for the full story and catalog of their unique and lovely yarns.)

Silk fibers tend to be a bit stiff at first but soften and stretch over time. As these are handmade, every piece is unique.

Note: This listing is for two bracelets. If you would like to order a different quantity, just let me know and I'll be happy to make you a custom order.
