These vintage glass beads were made in Japan. They date to the late 1960's - early 1970's and are part of a series of glass meant to simulate gemstones. These are supposed to look like lapis lazuli and are a lovely rich shade of dark blue. There is so much attention to detail in this glass that there are even tiny little gold flecks meant to imitate the pyrite often found in lapis.

The beads alone (not including the findings or loops) measure an average of almost 10mm long x 9mm wide. They come complete with gold tone bead caps and a head pin that is looped at one end. Ready to use as is or take them apart and use the lovely little bead caps for another project. They are kind of a rounded edge cube or rectangle shape and the size & shape does vary a bit from bead to bead as shown in the photo.

I can be sure of the age because we purchased a very large quantity of these types of beads and they were all still packed in the original boxes with the dates on them. You will receive 24 beads.

I have limited availability in the color.
