Hi! My husband likes to make bowls and he decided it might be fun to try to make a tibetan style spindle so here it is. This spindle is made from Kiaat I believe for the whorl, and cherry for the shaft. The whorl had a natural small split in the wood that has been sealed and won't give any trouble. Just wanted to let folks know. The whorl has been polished with a french finish and the shaft has a linseed oil finish for a nice grip. It weighs about 1.1 ounces and is and measures about 1 3/4" across at the widest point and is about 10 1/2" in length. It has been balanced for a nice long spin. Thanks so much for looking!

Very nice Tibetan supported spindle. Spins nice and long
