This Steampunk necklace features an antique pocket watch, a sought after Elgin, 1.1 inches (28mm) in diameter. The silver has a satin steel finish with delicate machine engraving known as damascening (visible in the final photograph). The serial number dates the year of production as 1916 - this piece is in remarkable condition for it's 96 years of age.

The mechanism is mounted with a glossy 7mm Carnelian cabochon - the stone glows with a deep ember red. The stone was very popular in Victorian jewelry so most appropriate for a mechanism made in the same era.

The original porcelain pocket watch face is on the reverse side, further testimony to the history of the mechanism.

The chain is a nice quality antiqued brass in a 3 x 4mm flat cable link, 33.5 or 850mm long - designed to look great with long line tops and knitwear and long enough to wear over a shirt collar. A nice necklace for a man or woman to wear.

This necklace looks great layered up with another piece as shown in photograph 4.
This is a unique piece of Steampunk inspired jewellery. It is designed and handmade in New Zealand by Janne Perry of Closetgothic and will be an amazing conversation starter wherever it is worn.
