In the late 1940s and 50s, Federal Prison Industries (FPI) made institutional products for commercial outlets like schools and the military. This metal lunch tray was one of those items. It is so very, very cool. It would look awesome on a kitchen wall. I considered turning it into a clock but decided to offer it up unaltered first.

Its quite weighty, almost 2 lbs. It measures 15 1/2 inches long and 11 1/2 inches tall. It is marked "1951 FPI" on the back. I tried to capture it in the third photo.
