French ship print from the series Portraits de Navires - Proserpine. This is one of a series of prints produced by Fina France and given away with the purchase of a tank of fuel or motor oil in the 1960s. This is a print of an 1811 watercolor by Antoine Roux of Prosperine - an English frigate with 44 canons after being taken by the French frigate Pénélope on 28 February 1809. Antoine Roux had four sons who were also maritime painters. The print comes in its original waxed paper sleeve which has more details about Fina and about the artist and picture.

The print measures 19ins (48cm) wide and 14ins (35.5cm) high. The actual picture on the paper is 15¼ins (38.5cm) wide and 10¾ins (27.2cm) high. The picture is in good condition - there are a couple of very slight creases around the outside but nothing major. There are a couple of tiny tears to the wax sleeve.

I have several other prints from the series that I will be listing. If you'd like more than one please contact me first as the shipping will be cheaper.

The prints will be shipped rolled in a tube.

Please contact me if you have any questions.
