Here is a beautiful early French Georgian-Victorian lorgnette, circa 1820-1840.It is has a very delicate, almost whimsical design. It has a slender louped swiveling handle leading up to some very nice repousse and etch work. This is an early lorgnette so it is manual not a push button like we see later. The glasses magnify and they can be used folded also as a magnifying glass. It hangs from a fancy antique chain from around 1900-1910.The chain is perfectly paired with the lorgnet. It is a very heavy gold fill made with double the normal average of gold used(its 1/10 rather than 1/20) for gold filled jewelry. No makers mark on either. The lorgnette is either low karat gold or gold fill as it did not hold up to 10k acid.
Not only do lorgnettes make beautiful and unusual pendants, but they are functioning also.I know many collectors that have had these set with their own RX lenses. They are also a highly collectable piece of history!

My reserve policy is stated in my shop announcement.
Reserves are a brief hold that secure an item for a particular buyer and will not at any time be used to hold items away from other buyers while you decide.
Reserves are only used to hold items that have been reduced for you and need to be secured for you.
If you request a reserve and do not follow through, you will not be allowed to purchase from my shop at any time in the future.
Reserving or purchasing items that you do not intend to pay for is not only against Esty guidelines but expressly goes against mine.
Reserves are generally for no longer than 12-24 hours.
If you need additional time to arrange payment, this must be approved prior to purchase.

No. This shop has always been a paper only shop (since 2011). Every order that you see was paid for by a check or MO. I do not accept credit cards, only checks with a 7 business day hold or USPS postal money orders with no hold time.

Any full priced item over $175 is eligible for lay-away. I can not set up a lay-away on any "offer" priced listing. Coupon codes and discounts do not apply to lay-always.
Deposits range from 15%-25%. Standard lay-away length is 6 weeks for orders under $500, and I can negotiate longer plans for larger orders.
You MUST contact me prior to purchase and receive approval for lay-away. Do not purchase and then request a lay-away as I cannot alter an invoice or set up a lay-away once you have checked out.
Your lay-away begins once the deposit listing has been purchased.
Make sure that you are familiar with my payment method as a lay-away requires you to send me installments by mail according to you payment schedule.
