It is my pleasure to offer my Water Spirit Bead tutorial.

This tutorial contains all instructions for making my bead design called ‘Water Spirit’.
I was originally inspired to create this lampworked bead series by the ancient Greek mythology that tells of the beautiful female guardians of all fresh water sources, some of whom possessed prophetic and/or healing powers. These goddesses were immortal and were called Naiad Nymphs and were thought to live within their stream, fountain or spring and each one was the patroness of her water source. Some were so highly thought of that temples were built in their honor. The Naiads’ ocean counterparts were called Nereid and Oceanid Nymphs, and these are depicted in art and sculpture as young women riding marine animals in the ocean waves. Each of these salt water Nymphs had a specific element of the sea in their realm of protection, be it waves, sand, currents etc. they were thought to help mariners in perilous storms.

Photographs tied to the detailed text will guide you seamlessly through each section to a successful completion of this versatile design

The tutorial is directed at lampworkers with intermediate to advanced skills, however there are techniques described that would be of interest to all skill levels The tutorial contains 58 images and 26 pages, and is 1.06 MB in PDF format . Glass used is COE104.
