Augustus R. Barman envisioned a future where people could communicate with each other immediately by voice and not by telegram. He often spoke of an enormous network of cables being woven across the country to directly connect people. The sound quality would be perfect and no calls would ever be dropped.

Though most of us are still stuck on the unreliable wireless technology, Mr. Barman saw what would inevitably follow. If you are one of the lucky few who has their home wired to this newly forming network, then you'll be needing this. Now with the Telephonic Voice Communications Device from Machineries Alley, you can make calls to anybody all over the world. Even people still stuck on "cell" phones! A "dialtone" indicates the device is working and then the key pad uses audible signals to call the other party. The handset still uses the old wireless technology so you can move about your home while you talk. But everything else is directly wired!
