Handcarved from cow bone. This lovely Koru combined fish hook design is a Maori symbol for strength & prosperity with renewal & spiritual growth of the koru. I have added a deep engraving showing a symbol of friendship & inner harmony
Bone is a traditional material used by the Maori for tools & jewellery. It is believed to carry the spirit of the wearer and is often worn before it is passed on as a gift.

My partner & I use only natural stains from plant leaves on our carvings to bring out the natural grain. They do keep their colour for a long time and develop a beautiful patina over time which can either become darker or lighter depending on the wearer. They can be worn in water, but it's best to remove them before showering or swimming as the salt or chlorine in the water will fade the colour more quickly.

This is a small piece 1 3/4 inches or 43mm long. I have hung it on black waxed cord with slip knots so it can be worn a length to suit you.
Will be sent in a lovely black velvet gift pouch with a card describing the material and the meaning of the design.

Postage can take 1-2 weeks from New Zealand to the Northern Hemisphere depending on your location. Please see shipping details for an estimated delivery time to your area. Or message me for a quicker courier delivery option for $40US and takes 5-7 days or 3-5 days to Australia and costs $26.
Items are insured and I take all care to package them safely.
