Glass and silver plate compote set in two pieces. The bottom is silver plate and feels heavy for it's size (weighs about 1.5 lbs). Top glass part is also quite heavy (2.5 lbs), beautiful, fluted, pressed glass.

It is not stamped, so no telling how old it is or by whom it was made. It was, however, my own grandmother's so I do have some idea that it was purchased in the late 60s or early 70s. I fondly remember her using it at Thanksgiving to serve Ambrosia.

It makes for a beautiful centerpiece bowl for fruit or desert, or it also can be used quite nicely as a vase for flowers.

Altogether it measures about 5" in height and 11" in width. Glass bowl is about 3 1/2" in depth.
