Beautiful and extremely hard to find 150 year old wall frame for displaying quarter-plate (1/4) ambrotypes, daguerreotypes, and tintypes.

Frame dimensions are 6.5" x 5.5"; opening is about 4.25" x 3.25".

Price guides consider this specific frame to be "VVR" (very very rare) - there are relatively few of them in existence! My Etsy asking price is lower than the price guide value, and much lower than retail shop / antique store value.

The back of the frame has two original hanging loops, for displaying the image horizontally or vertically. Frame includes original mat, glass, preserver, and tintype of a woman.

Although in mint condition, the tintype is dark, and the value lies almost entirely with the frame, however, because it is original to the frame, I am including the tintype.

Like nearly all wall frames of this material from this period, there are tiny "flea bite" chips along the edges, though there are few and being black on black, are very hard to spot, even when you are searching for them. The frame has no cracks or repairs.

Shipping includes tracking and insurance.
