Blue Faced Leicester (commonly referred to as BFL) is a fine wool, given that it is classified as a long wool and is semi lustrous. This wool is very soft and silky. It is easy to spin, and is great for beginning spinners. It is good choice for spinning into yarn that will drape well, or be woven into a strong, smooth fabric. This wool will also felt well.

This is approximately 4 ounces of BFL
Staple length: 3 - 6 inches
Hand wash and dry

When I was first starting to learn to spin, I used primarily merino and BFL because they drafted so easily. It was hard enough getting the feet treadling, the hands drafting, the brain to function...and I should end up with yarn too?? Wool that wasn't fairly smooth was beyond my primitive skill sets! I still love spinning this wool.

This color way is called Tieryn. Three of us got together and started messing around with the dye pots. I had my friend learn how to do the multicolored pot and I messed around with the deep crimson color. All the while, her daughter was playing with my picker. So, I smooshed our names together!

I use professional acid dyes on all my fibers.

I make every effort to realistically photograph my fibers. However, different monitors perceive colors differently, as does the human eye. I accurately describe my colors as best as possible. Please feel free to ask any questions.
