These brass sleigh bells on their original leather strap were patented by Major George W. Tucker and have the patent dates stamped on each bell reading: "PAT. OCT 24. [18]76 & MAY 14. [18]78". There are 12 double-throat bells stamped from thick yellow sheet bass on a strap that still has the original buckle but not the other end with the holes so some one has used a piece of cloth to close the loop.

"Jingling" these bells produces a truly amazing sound that can't be copied by today's methods. Absolutely beautiful!
