This handmade stoneware pottery bowl was thrown on the potter's wheel and given a rolled rim and a trimmed foot. The inside of the serving bowl is lined with a beautiful shino glaze; the exterior of the woodfired bowl was decorated only by the flame and ash of woodfiring.

Used as a serving bowl, or as a display bowl, the woodfired bowl is beautiful empty or filled. It's coloring and texture are so warm and its open shape pulls the eye in to rest on the stunning amber and cream shino glaze lining. The glaze has a satin quality that reflects light gently. The contrast between the varied colors and sheen of the exterior and the smooth, satin lining glaze invites touch.

Woodfired pottery with the classic old glazes used by potters hundreds of years ago is at home in almost any decor. It takes its place happily alongside so many styles of dish and serving ware. So, whether you are a woodfired collector or you are considering a gift for yourself or someone else, this bowl will please.

The bowl measures approximately 7 5/8" diameter and 3" height.

Thank you.

Mary
