Perfect for your vintage kitchen, this is a 1940s painted tin matchbox holder. Just slide the box in through the top, open to let the matches out. It even has a small holder for a smaller box of matches. No makers mark, it says "Made in USA" on the front. Measures 6 1/4" high and 3" wide. Great little item from a nice estate sale in Poulsbo, WA. This is from back in the day when stoves were gas and wood and one needed a match to light the stove, what a great time to live!
