This listing is for one basket
Now Available in Brown AND (while supplies last..)White. Both are the same kind of heavy duty paper used to make paper bags.

Garlic baskets are approximately 4-6" high and 5" across, with a 3-4" opening. Variations are due to handcrafting. Garlic is easily dropped in and retrieved.

* Loosely woven in an open twined pattern, to allow air to circulate around produce.
* The material is called "fiber rush", a tightly twisted brown paper product, intended for use in woven chair seats. I've found it to be amazingly durable and have had the same garlic basket hanging in my kitchen since 2001.
* It's best not to immerse them in water, but they can be spot cleaned, dusted, and quickly brushed with a slightly damp sponge, then air dried.

Handles are bound to avoid twisting.
I also weave these in natural reed (same price) and willow (slightly higher price).

Notice in the first and last photos that there are 2 sizes of this basket - many prefer the smaller one, because it has easier access to the garlic, but some like the larger one because it does hold 1 or 2 more bulbs of garlic. If this matters to you, simply make a note in the message space on the order form, or message me soon after you order. Otherwise, I'll send one or the other with no particular preference. Eventually, I'll only offer the smaller version, but can always make up a custom size.

Each garlic basket is different in subtle ways , but generally, they have a bulb shape and are fairly standard in size now. Satisfaction is guaranteed.

I developed this design over 25 years, based on the garlic baskets taught by one of my basketry teachers, many years ago. I've changed many features in response to feedback from my friends and customers.

The shipping charge listed is for priority mail to the East Coast. If you live closer to the west coast it may be a smaller charge (a garlic basket shipped to Seattle or LA will ship for just $5 and anything extra over .99 will be refunded back through your PayPal order. The difference between Priority and Parcel Post is less than a dollar so this will be shipped Priority unless you are combining it with other baskets that will make the package too heavy for shipping priority at a reasonable charge. It becomes very expensive after the first 2 pounds. In that case, your combined shipping charges will be applied to Parcel Post and if there is any overage beyond .99 - you will see a partial refund in your PayPal account.
