Ladies walking to and from the market border this traditional quilt of "Birds in the Air" blocks in rich tones of caramel and bright inner borders of red and blue. Kaye England's "View from the Edge" seemed the perfect composition for this collection of ethnic cottons and batiks.

Large appliqued jugs and gourds are shaded and modeled to pop off the background pattern. Embellished with hundreds of hand-sewn African beads, these vessels represent the rhythms of everyday life.

My friend, professional quilter, Sue Bunch, lent her time and talents to quilt this piece for me.
She is a long-arm quilt artist in Mesa, Arizona.

Ready to hang with a 4" sleeve.

Created in a pet-free and fragrance -free studio.
