Fabric: Silk velvet, lined in silk, ermine collar
Label: M. Pasternak - Washington, D.C
Size: One size fits most. Looks best on a small-medium framed person.
Condition: For being nearly 100 years old, this coat is in remarkable condition. Still, it shows its age. Although it could probably be worn as-is, there is significant shattering of the fabric, which is well hidden under the ermine collar in the back. It will need to be patched to preserve the jacket. It could be patched without being seen since it is in a hidden area. There is also shattering to the lining in a couple of spots, but as it is unseen can be worn as-is with care. There are a few wear spots to the velvet, but this is also very minimal. You can see the only noticeable wear spot on the back of the coat, (in the last picture) near the hem-this is much less obvious in person, but worth mentioning. There is some small tearing in the fur where it closes in the front.
I really want to stress that while this coat is not in the best condition, it is such a stunning historical garment. This beauty is worthy preserving, and with a little restoration, it could be resold or kept for oneself.
