hebridean teals
38yrds
Jumping between blue and green..
An array of teals passing through fluffy greys inky blacks and crispen whites.
Hebridean sky and sea are at the start of this palette.

The colors in this yarn were created by a succesion of super thin carded bats, built pinch by pinch of fibre,to achieve these incredible vibrant luminous and complex hues that glow.

There is a mix of fibres in contrasting textures going from the silken sheen to the woollen mat:
silk, wensleydale, bfl, merino, tencel, soya and bamboo.
these single corespun yarns are spun thick and thin , slubbed, sometimes smooth sometimes bobbly.

The production of this yarn is a slow process that will not be rushed.
Each skein is the result of many dyeings and cardings to achieve the unique hues and textures that make them sing.
Each skein is a painting steeped in the experience of my breathtaking surroundings: the highlands of scotland .
When working at my carders, I work intuitively with no preconception ,there is always a sense of excitement. If it were to stop being so, I would move on to another form of expression.

I am always happy to spin or make something up just for you.
