Here is a moving tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., from children- black and white- whose lives were touched by the martyred civil rights leader. Their artwork, and extracts from their letters, have been compiled into well conceived volume produced as the first publication of Buckingham Enterprises, Inc.

'Dr. King' is in three parts. The first is a collection of letters and drawings done by members of class 6G of the Richard J. Bailey School in Greenburgh, White Plains, NY. Nine students comment on Dr. King's life and his winning of the Nobel Peace Prize.

In the second section, titled "Journey to Oslo," numerous photographs illustrate Gunnar Jahn's presentation speech, Dr. Kings acceptance speech and his lecture delivered at Oslo University in 1964.

Section three is a final tribute directed to "Dear Mrs. King," and includes letters and drawings prepared after the assasination. These express sorrow, yet they are full of hope in the future of America and mankind.

Although this book is compiled largely by the works of children, it is not just another child's book. Adults, too, will appreciate both the simplicity and beauty of its contents, plus the care with which the volume has been designed. (courtesy of Crisis Magazine 1968)
