Beautifully Detailed Shield Pin dated 1935. This pin celebrates the Seventh National Eucharistic Congress that was held in Cleveland in September of 1935. It reportedly drew a crowd of 500,000 Catholics from around the nation. The congress was one of a series of such meetings held by the Roman Catholic Church to increase devotion to Jesus Christ present in the Eucharist. Designed with a “crest” style shield, the words “Seventh National Eucharistic Congress / Cleveland / MCMXXXV” are along the edges of the crest. In the center is a monstrance with radiating beams along with the Latin phrase “Soli Deo Gloria.” The back of the pin is marked with “A.E. Co./ UTICA NY” and “PAT. No. 96281”. The medal has a lovely gold tassel still attached.

The medal, including the tassel, hangs 2 1/4" long
