LEARNING MORE ABOUT HOW IT'S MADE:

Here is more information so you know exactly what you are buying. You will not be disappointed!

-----------------The Ash

The first step in the process of creating black soap is burning bark and leaves from various trees. Cocoa pods are also used as well as plantain peels, and, in some instances, herbs. Shea tree bark is especially popular and can be found in many recipes . These items are burned until they turn to ash. This is what gives the soap its unique color. Black soaps vary in darkness, based on the types of bark used. The ash will be combined with water and brought to a boil until the the ash dissolves.

----------------The Oil

In a separate pot, oils are heated. Palm oil is one example, but there are others such as coconut or shea butter. Once heated, the oil will slowly be poured into the ash. Water and the temperature are turned down. The mix is stirred constantly as a foam is formed on top. The foam is then scooped off the top until no more forms. This can take a long time, and may take an entire day. However, the smaller the batch made, the less time will be needed. Any residue left in the pot after all the water has evaporated will also be black soap.

------------When It's Finished

Once the soap is out of the pot, it needs to cool on a non-stick surface. When it can be handled, it can be molded into whatever shape is desired. It needs to cure for a few weeks before it's used.

For the price this raw soap is a treat! You won't find any soap on here cheaper that has this much quality.

I always care about seeing all the ingredients in a list together, and it worries me when I don't , so here it is.

>>INGREDIENTS<<: A secret blend of traditional ingredients including Plantain Skin, Palm Kernel Oil. (May include) Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Cocoa Pods, Shea pods, Tropical Honey & Silk Bark.

NO PRESERVATIVES!
NO FRAGRANCES!
NO HARSH "bad" CHEMICALS!
= NO WORRIES! :-)

CARING FOR YOUR SOAP: It is imperative to Never leave your Raw African Black Soap near the shower. Raw African Black Soap is unique to other soaps in that it absorbs the oxygen around it to infuse it into your skin. Because of its highly absorptive nature the soap will become one with the water and disintegrate if left in or near your shower.
