The fused glass cabochon is by Lauren Urban on etsy. It reminds me of lemon merangue pie filling that puddled on a black countertop. I surrounded it with recycled turquoise leather and accented with beaded fringe in yellow, orange, black, turquoise and silver. This necklace is 20" long measuring along the inside edge. It is also a fairly heavy piece, as the cabochon is about 2.5" across. The turquoise blue leather is recycled from a jacket. The neck chain is knitted cotton. This is an attention-grabbing piece for sure.....bright and cheerful.
I have been doing seedbead work since I was a teen. We won't talk about how long ago that was. Back then if you did seedbead work, it was "indian beadwork". I'm not even sure you can say that anymore unless you're a quarter indian or something. My great grandmother on my father's side was a Canadian indian. Does that count? Anyway.... seed beading has changed SO much from the southwestern inspired rosettes and loom pieces of my youth. But I think most of my pieces tend to show that influence.

I also love mixing the seedbeads with crochet. Figured I'd use the last 2 photos to show you a couple of my other pieces. The last photo is a clutch purse.
