A beautiful set from Sherman probably dating from the1960s. The large triangular pin features varying sizes of chatons and navettes set in place so that the design peaks in the middle. Each corner is decorated with a spray of small chatons that radiate outwards on their own “stems”. The stones flash with hues of pink, blue, green, purple and gold depending on the light. Each earring features the same navettes and chatons set in a way that mimics design elements of the brooch, including the graceful three-stone floral-like spray. All pieces are in excellent condition – all stones are securely in place with no scratching or chipping, and the aurora borealis coating has no major flaws to disclose (just the typical minor scratching which is visible under close examination/magnification). Gold plating only has some VERY MINOR dulling on the backside of the earrings where they would sit against the ear when worn, but no flaws otherwise (no flaking, pitting or chipping). Plating on the brooch is absolutely pristine with no dulling, flaking, pitting or chipping. Fastener mechanisms on all three pieces work like new. All three pieces are signed, and the earring clip mechanism has “PAT. 156452” inscribed on the inside of each clip arm. Measurements are as follows: the brooch is 1 7/8" wide and earrings measure 1 1/8" long by 5/8" at their widest point. A highly-collectible and beautiful demi in excellent condition that exhibits all the characteristics of the wonderful craftsmanship of the jewelry house of Sherman.
