The perfect basket to hang on a peg rack to display as is or to fill with a primitive stitchery and a small bunch of sweet annie. Based on antique baskets made by the Cherokee people, this basket features a pouch, backed with a higher woven neck section and hanger.

There are 2 hangers on this basket - the one on the top that you can see from the front of the basket and another one that is hidden on the back. I put on the hidden one if you would prefer to hang the basket from this hanger. There is a close up of this hanger in one of the photos.

After weaving, I finished the basket in a multi step process; a base coat of brown followed by a coat of maroon. After letting the paint dry, I finished it off with a dip into my homemade black walnut stain. This stain is 100% "green" - no chemicals are used in the creation of the stain. These three steps create a very primitive finish on this basket - the layers of color add interest.

Approximate measurements: 8" long, 16 1/2" tall (including handle) and 4" deep. The pocket part of the basket is a little over 4" deep.

The Santa and evergreen/pip berry rings are for display purposes only and are not included with the basket.
