Boulder Opal is a precious opal forming as a result of silica-solution seeping into spaces in brown ironstone. It is the second rarest opal on Earth after black opal, but is often nearly identical in appearance to black opal. Considering that boulder opal cost about 7 times less than black opal but looks almost the same, that makes it seem like a pretty good deal to me!

This one-of-a-kind, quality pendant of boulder opal was mined in Australia. The pools of light and dark tanzanite-hued opal contrast beautifully against the darker matrix.

The pendant face measures 1.75 inch by just under 1 inch wide, including the silver-coat bail (the opal itself is about 1 and 1/8 inches long). The premium chocolate brown leather cord measures an adjustable 16-18 inches and is finished with a bronze Swarovski Crystal and sterling Amy Zane tag.

Boulder opals have natural fire in any kind of light, and are more subtle in darker environments.

The necklace will arrive with an Amy Zane bio card in a lovely decorative bag, all wrapped in a tissue paper and fancy ribbon package.

As with all my necklaces, length can be adjusted for a small fee.

The shipping charge covers first class mail shipping and insurance on your jewelry.
