He is a bit over three inches tall and three and a half inches long.
He will ship usps 1st class domestic and international. I refund shipping overages. I ship 1-2 times a week due to a premium on my space. I am truly a one person studio, so please be patient with me, I promise the slight wait is worth it.
This piece was worked from a hollow, pinched capsule of a body (that's why there is a hole in the bottom, it would explode in the kiln otherwise) and the limbs, head ears added as the sculpture progressed - in this case the antlers have to be allowed to dry *just right* before I can add them to the piece, while at the same time the legs have to be dry enough to hold up the body, since I cannot lay it on its side to dry as I do with most standing animal figures. There are several layers of wash pigments and glazes used to achieve this appearance over white porcelain... .After glazing it was fired to ~2200F/1200C. The entire process for a kiln load takes 2-3 weeks.
This stag was completed on Aug 24, 2012 and was one of ~130 pieces in the firing. The piece is signed and dated on the bottom.
