This is a botanical print of a native plant of Timor. The author i identified it with the name Turis.

This is a facsimile of an 18th. Century illustration from a manuscript about the flora of Timor. The originals were drawn by a Portuguese priest and are in an archive in Lisbon. The originals are watercolor illustrations on rice paper. This facsimile edition was published in 1969.

A facsimile is a copy or reproduction of an old book or manuscript that is as true to the original source as possible. As you can see in the scanned images, the page shows the illustration as it is in the original with uneven borders and imperfections. In my opinion, this makes the vintage illustration even more beautiful, you get an exact reproduction of an 18th century drawing.

Size: approx. 10" by 13.5"

In excellent condition.

This is the actual page from a 1969 book, not a reproduction.

Sent to you rolled in a tube.
