Handmade wooden coffee measuring spoon of Black Cherry wood. It is 4 inches long and is meant to reside right in the can so you don't have to go looking for it at 0 dark thirty in the morning. It is calibrated to hold 1 tblspn. The little dimple in the handle is for your thumb so you can get a good grip. The coffee cup I photographed it with is about 2/3 the size of a regular cup to give you an idea of scale. These are one of my favorite pieces to make. I like these because I can use small scraps left over from other things or if I have a small piece of a very special wood.

The first one was about 2 years ago. I had this beautiful piece of tropical wood that I wanted to use but it was too small for a regular coffee scoop. I was working on a carved door pull for a cabinet and it had this little hollow for your thumb on the front side. I thought of using it on a coffee scoop with a real short handle that would fit inside the small scrap I had. I dropped what I was doing and made the scoop and showed it to my wife. She snatched it and said "you're not selling it, it's mine".

Finished with beeswax and mineral oil. Care is easy, just wash in hot soapy water, towel dry, and apply some mineral oil or walnut oil every couple of weeks or you can buy some of our spoon oil finish which is Beeswax and mineral oil. A 4 oz. jar lasts for a long time and it will help to keep your utensils looking and feeling good for many years.
