A Guide to Wild Flowers and Woodland Flowers by T.H.Everett of the NY Botanical Gardens. 1945 hardcover mini book with wonderful illustrations by Rudolf Freund.

Measuring just 5.5" x 3.5" this little pocket reference book is efficiently filled with about 60 pages, over 50 of which depict a species of woodland flower with a sweet illustration and a paragraph or two of text. Each plant is named, given its scientific name and family, described in detail including blooming season and where it's found. The writing is familiar and pretty, as are the drawings : blue gentian, rue, cohosh, plaintain, cowslip, liverwort and lots more.

The book is a "Companion Book" to several others on field and garden flowers. It is published in Racine Wisconsin by Whitman Publishing Co.

Condition is good, with some wear. There is not dustjacked, and the pages show some foxing and a mark here or there, though they're crisp and feel like new as does the binding. The back cover has a slight ripple which can be seen in photo 5. It is overall lovely and practical, as well as very sweet looking.
