DRIPCUT STARLINE COPPER RESTAURANT NAPKIN DISPENSER

It was 1962 and Jack Gates had just pulled into the parking lot of a little diner on the outskirts of Phoenix. He'd been on the road all night, driving from his former life in L.A. Tinseltown had chewed him up and spit him out. The sun was just coming up in Phoenix and he could smell the sweet fragrance of orange blossoms that still lingered from the waning evening. He stumbled out of his car, stepped into the diner and took an empty seat at the counter. His eyes were heavy with sleep as he turned over his coffee cup, a signal to the waitress that he needed some hot Joe and he needed it quick. Just then the light of the sunrise streamed through the diner window and reflected off the shiny copper napkin holder that was sitting in front of him on the counter. Jack found his eyes fixed on the glistening beacon of hope that was revealed in the illuminated dispenser. It was a sign--there was hope for a new beginning here in Arizona. He looked out over the endless desert horizon, stood up and said aloud, "That's it, I'll become a real estate developer!"

As Jack bounded back out to his car, the waitress watched him through the window and then picked up his empty coffee cup and smelled for any sign that her excitable customer had added something extra to his drink.
